Booking.com, Skyscanner, Ctrip and TripAdvisor join travel sustainability pact

A quartet of major online travel brands have joined forces as part of a global partnership to encourage sustainable tourism projects around the world.Booking.com, Skyscanner, Ctrip and TripAdvisor, alongside payment giant Visa, have come together to form Travalyst in an effort to mobilize the travel industry as a catalyst for good, aiming to transform the future of travel for everyone. In short, they will work together in a series of initiatives to educate, raise awareness and, in their words, promote positive change.

Bluegreen Vacations Holding Corporation (NYSE: BVH) (OTCQX: BVHBB) (“Bluegreen Vacations,” “Bluegreen,” or the “Company”), a leading vacation ownership company, announced its recent acquisition of a 320-room resort and spa in Panama City Beach, Florida and two buildings in the Streamside at Vail Resort enclave in Vail, Colorado.Bluegreen currently plans to convert the 320-guestroom resort and spa, formally branded and managed as a Sheraton®, to 200 rooms, consisting of studios, one bedroom, two-bedroom and presidential suites and add a new sales preview center. The property, which includes a full-service spa, four restaurants, a private marina and beach as well as pools, tennis courts and fitness center, will receive additional enhancements to building exteriors, public areas and other improvements. The Panama City Beach Resort and Spa is Bluegreen’s second acquisition in 2022 having acquired property at Streamside at Vail in July. The company’s purchase of the Vail property will add 46 units of one-bedroom and one-bedroom loft to Bluegreen’s growing inventory and provide access to a range of amenities including clubhouse, spa, fitness center and shuttle service to local attractions. Plans are underway to renovate guest rooms, building exterior, and infrastructure in early 2023. Chartwell Hospitality Transforms Land in Brentwood and Lebanon for New Hotels

Chartwell Hospitality announced it has purchased land in Brentwood and Lebanon, Tenn., to bring new hotels to these suburbs of Nashville. Chartwell Hospitality will transform the land in Brentwood into a TownePlace Suites by Marriott and will build a Home2 Suites by Hilton in Lebanon. Chartwell Hospitality has partnered with Rockbridge on both hotel projects. Chartwell Hospitality will develop and manage both properties.TownePlace Suites by Marriott offers guestrooms with full kitchens, outdoor community patios with grills, free Wi-Fi, on-site laundry, upscale fitness center, outdoor pool, and lobby marketplace. The Brentwood TownePlace Suites will feature 120 rooms and will be located in the East Park development of Maryland Farms. Chartwell Hospitality worked with Boyle Investment Company on their efforts to rezone the existing office building parcel to allow for hotel use. Chartwell Hospitality plans to demolish the existing obsolete Office Building #1 within East Park by the end of 2022 and redevelop the space into the TownePlace Suites. The firm plans to break ground on the hotel’s construction in the spring of 2023. Chartwell Hospitality will concurrently break ground in Lebanon, Tenn., for the 120-room Home2 Suites in the spring of 2023.
