Business Travel News Europe | March 12, 2020

CWT has introduced web-based flight booking capabilities to its myCWT global travel management platform, allowing travellers to buy flights and hotels through the company’s chosen online booking provider. The new option adds to the existing ability to book through any of the company’s servicing and booking channels, including web, mobile, email, telephone and messaging. Niklas Andreen, CWT’s chief traveller experience officer, said: “We are excited about this new launch. It is yet another milestone in our quest to enrich the travel experience of our clients’ employees and fulfil our three core brand promises – simplify travel, unlock possibilities and move forward together. Our clients asked us for a complementary booking experience similar to the one offered by the OTAs but with the benefits of being in-policy. We’ve delivered this with a booking choice that is both fast and easy.”

ATP Adds New Features to Aviation Software Platform, Flightdocs Operations

ATP | January 20, 2023

On January 19, 2023, ATP, which offers information services and software solutions to the aviation industry, informed that it is planning to introduce a new set of features to its Flightdocs Operations software platform. The revamped product ensures smooth flight scheduling and trip planning using improved communication features that optimize data flow. The updates will be part of the new product showcase at NBAA's Schedulers and Dispatcher Conference in Nashville (Tennessee) from January 24 to 26, 2023. Flightdocs Operations provides flight operations management software to schedulers and dispatchers that utilizes real-time data and resource availability. The platform allows users to manage crew, create trips, and communicate with team members from a single, up-to-date calendar view. ATP ensures that passengers' personally identifying information is kept private and safe by using strong data and software controls. It is also fully cloud-based and ISO-certified. The native mobile solution, available as an iOS app, also works offline. This lets end users, who are frequently on the road, such as crews and pilots, sign in and complete electronic flight logs in locations without internet connectivity. Mike Profit, COO of ATP, shares, "The unique aspect about this groundbreaking tool is that it's one of the first and only cloud-based web applications on the market for flight operations and scheduling that is fully integrated with a maintenance tracking platform." He adds, "With this product, we are breaking down silos between maintenance and flight operations departments to eliminate any miscommunication between the two and improving operating efficiency in order to maximize aircraft uptime." (Source – Business Wire) Meanwhile, the Flightdocs Operations program will be exhibited at the conference at Booth 227. IBS Software's New Survey Reveals Air Passenger Preferences

IBS Software | February 15, 2023

On February 15, 2023, IBS Software, a travel tech company, released new survey data that shows a staggering 93% of UK and US customers would book more services with airlines if given the opportunity, presenting an enormous opportunity for airlines. Following a difficult phase of travel uncertainty, passenger confidence in US and UK is on the rise, with 83% of respondents planning to purchase airline tickets within the next six months, according to the study. However, the research also indicates that airlines have failed to maximize this opportunity, with more than a third of respondents (36%) indicating that booking a flight online is more time-consuming and complex than other online retail experiences. 56% of recent flyers would purchase additional offerings from an airline if the online reservation and checkout experience were more like that of online fashion retailers and grocery stores. In addition, a tenth of the people stated that they would book the entirety of their vacation with their airline if they could. Nearly a quarter of respondents (24%) believe that having all confirmation details in one place is the primary advantage of booking multiple trip components in a single transaction, closely followed by saving money (22%) and having only one provider to deal with in case of issues (19%). Converting a one-time buyer into a repeat customer is difficult for any company. Free seat allocation (51%), included baggage (60%), and priority boarding (25%) are the top services airlines could provide to convert passengers into lifelong customers. Paul Byrne, VP iFly Retail at IBS Software, explains, "As more and more industries invest in Amazon-esque tactics to compete for consumer spend, it's important airlines don't pass up the opportunity on the table. It's always challenging transforming back-end technology but now is the time to build more personalised relationships with your customers - in a difficult economic climate, can you afford not to?"
