Hotel Equities and National Hospitality Services Form Strategic Alliance

globenewswire | May 12, 2023

Today, Hotel Equities (HE) and National Hospitality Services (NHS) announced they have formed a strategic alliance. The NHS portfolio of 38 hotels will integrate into HE’s management platform creating strategic growth opportunities for associates and optimizing systems to create a more dynamic and powerful operations and sales engine. The alliance leverages efficiencies and resources to drive elevated performance across the combined portfolio of approximately 300 hotels and resorts throughout the United States and Canada. “Since opening our first hotel in 1996, we have lived our promise to maximize earnings and value for the ownership groups we represent. Our partnership with Hotel Equities allows us to take that commitment to the next level," said founder and President of NHS, Norman Leslie. "The synergies and shared cultures of both companies ensure that our stakeholders will continue to see strong and growing returns for our ownership groups. This is an exciting time for our industry – but management must perform at a pinnacle level to deliver the returns that investors are seeking. That’s exactly what we will be able to do with this partnership." “This alliance has been forged from a shared vision for future growth and a commitment to foundational values,” said HE’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Brad Rahinsky. “NHS’s track record of success and its stellar associate-centric reputation are well established in our industry. This alliance enables them to stay independent while honoring their legacy and unlocking the added scale, support and resources of HE’s collective platform.” A key benefit from the alliance is the focused efforts on labor concerns, recruitment and retention with the added proprietary training and development resources and benefits HE has available to all of its associates and partners. NHS’s nearly 1,200 associates will bring HE’s total to more than 9,000 with access to additional perks including a sabbatical program, daily pay option, HE Marketplace and peer management training programs to spur and support continuous career growth. “Not only will our team members have added growth opportunities by being part of an expansive portfolio but they also have the ability to tap into additional benefits and training programs to catapult their careers,” said Sarah Koustrup, Chief Strategy Officer for NHS. “Partnering with a group that invests heavily into its people was a huge deciding factor in moving forward with an alliance; it’s what we are most proud of.” “Our people-focused and performance-driven model creates immediate value add for all of NHS’s stakeholders,” added HE’s Chief Operating Officer, Bryan DeCort. “As all new NHS associates are fully integrated into the HE ecosystem, owners will also experience real performance lift.” “We continue to look for scale with the right groups where we both add value to the relationship in many ways,” said HE’s Chief Development Officer, Joe Reardon. “The alliance makes everyone better not only from cost savings to ownership groups but even more on the people side of the business. We are particularly excited about the growth opportunity this allows us in the Midwest.” “The best-in-class systems, operations management and buying power of our combined efforts will not only elevate the guest experience at all of our hotels but also allow us to intensify our focus on NHS’s owner and asset management services with even more opportunities for property acquisitions, financing and enhanced operations management,” Leslie added. DTG Launches Next-Generation Chef PowerStation, Takes Mobilized Food and Beverage Services to the Next Level for Hospitality Businesses

businesswire | April 24, 2023

National Restaurant Association Show, Visit Booth #2784--DTG, the leading provider of industrial-strength power systems and mobile workstation solutions, today launched a new generation of its popular mobile Chef PowerStation. The next-generation carts offer increased power and output capacity, as well as features and functionality that accommodate the needs of mobile food and beverage operations in hospitality markets, such as sports stadiums, clubs and resorts, and other event venues, where the ability to untether concessions from fixed locations can drive a better patron experience, reduce wait times and boost profitability. DTG’s new generation of battery-powered mobile Chef PowerStations now feature increased power capacity leveraging new models of DTG’s Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, which offer advanced power to mobilize food and beverage operations for up to 18 hours. The new models also provide improved ergonomics for food preparation, and additional options for refrigeration, heating and storage. “A new wave of challenges is forcing hospitality businesses such as restaurants, resorts and event venues to find new ways to reach more customers with innovative offerings,” said Steve Shaheen, DTG CEO and co-founder. “Our mobile hospitality workstations are helping businesses differentiate themselves and elevate their food and beverage services at a time when consumers are becoming more discerning with their discretionary food and entertainment spending and their time.” DTG’s Chef PowerStations were recently featured at the Chef-to-Chef event, a premier conference by Club + Resort Chef, where some of the nation’s leading chefs used the new workstations in a variety of formats including a culinary competition in front of a live audience. According to Kevin Silk, Executive Chef, Savannah Yacht Club, “The DTG workstation was a great tool for the competition; it had plenty of power for the oven and my other electric appliances and had a lot of tabletop space for me to utilize for prep. I could definitely see my club using these for action stations during events or for cooking classes! I would recommend these carts to all of my colleagues.” The Chef PowerStations have also been used to meet the food and beverage needs at Texas A&M football games at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, a venue that seats more than 100,00 fans. In partnership with the Levy Group, the mobile workstations were employed to reduce customer wait times, increase profitability, and address critical staffing shortages. BrainHQ Studies Importance of Brain Training for Space Travel

BrainHQ | March 10, 2023

BrainHQ, a brain training system, has recently announced the conclusion of its pilot study, showing that brain training can help space travel. The research was conducted with computerized brain training and Posit Science marketed it. The researchers found that space travel has a hazardous impact on the brain because of the gravitational forces involved in liftoff and landing, radiation, microgravity, and isolation. These impacts resulted in effects like intracranial pressure, impaired vision, vestibular dysfunction, altered fluid levels in veins and arteries, white matter changes, and premature aging. They grouped the astronauts having qualities like age, education and discipline who are employees from the Johnson Space Center for the Increasing Cognitive Ability/Reserve Using Software (ICARUS) pilot study. It tested their cognitive performance through its assessments and Cognition Test Battery, a software-based test dedicated to NASA. It trained five of these participants for about 15 hours of training, 18 sessions and over the 90 days. They improved on internal measures of its exercises with a 71% increase on average in primary performance metrics. On the NASA Cognition Test Battery, they showed 19% gains on average. With preliminary findings, the pilot study provided data and feasibility for further research. CEO of Posit Science, Dr. Henry Mahncke said, “These are exciting results in a new area, which is literally about the New Frontier.” He added, “Whether it’s returning to the moon or colonizing Mars, we know that addressing the cognitive challenges of long-term space flight is essential. These results fit nicely with what we’ve seen in building cognitive reserve in older adults and people recovering from brain injury and brain fog, as well as improving peak performers — such as special forces, law enforcement, or athletes — expected to perform at superhuman levels under extreme time and performance pressures.” (Source – Globe Newswire) About BrainHQ Headquartered in San Francisco, California, BrainHQ, a wellness and fitness services provider, has improved mental ability and performance since 2002. The international team of neuroscientists and brain experts tested its brain training system. Its exercise is scientific-based, and researchers validated its real benefits in their published papers. The experts design, test and redefine its online exercises for cognitive issues, healthy aging and mental conditions. It uses a special algorithm to adapt difficulty in each exercise at the optimum level. Its exercises are divided into different levels for a flexible period, depending on the personal training goals, on any computer or mobile device.
