TravelWifi CEO Wallace Davis announced today the recent acquisition of Barcelona-based Wifivox, the leading provider of mobile Wi-Fi solutions in Spain. Founded in 2013, Wifivox has offices in Barcelona and Madrid. The company offers rentable Wi-Fi hotspot devices that can be ordered online and then picked up or dropped off at major airports and approximately 2,000 locations throughout Spain. Wifivox has a collaborative agreement with the official Barcelona tourism board and maintains more than 830 B2B partnerships in sectors ranging from events and media production companies to travel agencies and the hospitality industry.

DeAngelo also views AWS as a development platform ideally matched to Allegiant's recently-launched customer loyalty program, Allways Rewards. "Allways is a generational departure from traditional miles-based airline loyalty, taking its inspiration instead from the best innovative technology and retail programs that make earning, tracking and using rewards incredibly easy," he said. "Utilizing the AWS platform, Allways will bring a level of continuously improving personalization that is unprecedented in the airline and leisure industry."
Working with AWS also affords Allegiant a more elastic, scalable information technology infrastructure to support its operations. Since starting to build with AWS this spring, Allegant has already significantly reduced its footprint in traditional fixed data centers, and plans to exit those facilities entirely and move to AWS.

Trivago acquires Weekend.com, a Germany-based startup - and online travel service - focusing on travelers who are searching for short breaks.
Explicit terms of deal - a 100% share takeover - have not been unveiled.
It is the first acquisition for convenience search site Trivago since it purchased TripBuddy, an AI-led personalization engine, in May 2018.
The arrangement is being heralded as a chance for Trivago to put its "marketing and product expertise" into the Weekend.com brand and offer hotel content.
The 2016-established bundle travel out startup claims to have deals accessible for 30,000 hotels in 400 objections, selling on the two its site and mobile applications in business sectors including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, U.K. furthermore, the U.S.
