Sabre wins first U.S. stage of Farelogix acquisition antitrust case

A nine-month lawsuit by the U.S. government to stop Sabre's deal to buy Farelogix is over after a court ruled in favor of the travel technology and distribution giant. The victory for Sabre in a Delaware courthouse on Monday is the first of two hurdles it hopes to pass this week, paving the way for it to complete its acquisition of Farelogix for $360 million from November 2018. The U.S. Department of Justice launched its lawsuit in August last year, claiming the deal would eliminate competition that has, so far, "substantially benefited airlines and consumers."
