Manatee tourism director touts economic impact of 3.1 million visitors

Yet they also contribute $1.3 billion annually to Manatee County’s economy while paying $54.4 million in sales taxes.On Wednesday, Elliott Falcione, executive director of the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, told more than 100 members and guests of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce how vacationers are crucial to a local hospitality industry that employs 26,100 residents.“That’s how Florida was built,” Falcione said, referring to the Sunshine State’s history of attracting visitors who make return trips or even move to or even open businesses here.The bureau markets Manatee as a family destination using a combination of public relations, social media, digital and traditional advertising and other promotions, such as hosting travel writers.
