Brazil Tourism Ministry video highlights actions of Top Braztoa Sustainability Award winner

Over 20 years of operation of the SESC Porto Cercado Hotel, in Poconé and Barão de Melgaço (MT), integrating the tourist activity to one of the most important Brazilian biomes are highlighted in unpublished video produced by the Ministry of Tourism, Brazil.The action is part of the Top Braztoa Sustainability Award 2018/2019 which has been presented to SESC Porto Cercado Hotel, which aims to disseminate the socio-environmental results obtained with sustainable tourism in the Pantanal of Mato Grosso, a natural region encompassing the world’s largest tropical wetland area.
During their stay at the Hotel Sesc Porto Cercado, guests are involved in environmental education during visits in places such as the butterfly garden and in walks through the Pantanal.
Among the attractions offered to guests, tours and recreational activities provide a unique experience. Tourists sail to the ranch of a pantaneiro to know the local culture manifested in the house, in the food customs, in the speech and in the singing of the pantaneiros. There are also horseback riding in the flooded areas and nocturnal observation of the animals on the banks of the rivers, as well as safari by Transpantaneira Park Road, trail on stilts and lookouts, among others.
The hotel has a solar power plant, the first in the Pantanal, with 1,240 plates. The plant already produces energy to supply more than 50% of the hotel’s needs
