Slow decline in Chinese tourist number can prove to be costly for NZ

As per data released by Statistics NZ, arrivals of Chinese tourists to New Zealand are gradually declining. As almost 450,000 Chinese tourists visited New Zealand in 2018, a huge 7.3 increase on the year before compared to the number of monthly arrivals with 2017 shows three consecutive months of decline.October 2018 witnessed a major 8.7 percent drop on the year before, arrivals declined 4.4 percent in November and December had 3.3 percent less arrivals than the year before. It shows to what looks like an unsatisfactory summer season for the New Zealand tourism industry.
