Tourists visiting Brazil for leisure jumps by over 14% in last 4 years

The number of foreign tourists who came to Brazil for leisure has increased by 14.6% in the last 4 years, as per data released Ministry of Tourism based on International Demand Study 2018.According to the survey, in 2015 about half (51.3%) of tourists visited Brazil for its natural and cultural beauty. The percentage is lower than the one registered last year, when 58.8% of them landed in Brazil with the same intention.The study also shows that among the types of leisure, the sun and beaches of the country was preferred by seven out of 10 visitors last year. This is followed by adventure tourism, ecotourism and nature tourism which was sought by 16.3% of the interviewed tourists. Brazilian culture, too, was one of the main reasons for travel by foreigners, representing 9.5% of interest.
