Pennsylvania has been a national leader in heritage tourism development for the past decade,
launching a number of state, regional and local
programs that have been replicated around the
country. But those responsible for Pennsylvania’s
heritage tourism successes are concerned that
Pennsylvania will not be able to sustain this
leadership position and take advantage of the
growing interest in heritage travel, unless new
energy and resources are directed toward heritage
tourism development in the state.
